This blog centers, skips, and dances around my forty years of work in theatre, improvisation, and acting which I have come to call My Playful Self. This blog will will focus and frolic in and around words, pictures, and musings introducing My Playful Self to Your Playful Self with the hope of talking, communicating and playing here in blogland.
But blogland is a big place and it is usually best to look at a map when traveling into big places – within even bigger places so here are some of the territories, counties, and trunk roads to be traveled here:
Category – Book Berry Road
You can read, reflect and comment on the words of my book “Meet Your Playful Self” which is divided into two sections. The first section is an introduction to the paths and exercises as developed over 40 years of working with people as improvisers.
The second section of the book is called “The Workshop” and consists of a step by step system for you to begin your own working group to follow 47 exercises to meeting your playful self.
From time to time I will unearth pieces from past projects and manuscripts.
Category – The Projects
The Projects are performance and fun video works that come along. The most recent Project is the theatre experiment of launching a little tour: “Playing with Beckett – Krapp’s Last Tape”.
Category – The Driftless Trails
Here you can play and frolic in the area I call home.
From Wiki- The Driftless Area or Paleozoic Plateau is a region in the American Midwest noted mainly for its deeply carved river valleys. While primarily in southwest Wisconsin, it includes areas of southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa and northwest Illinois A fun, majestic, old and powerful place.
Category – Muse Lane
The orientation on Muse Lane is really quite directionless and is the ultimate place to play with words in such wanderings as WORD TRASH, STRUCTUAL POETRY, and/or anything in between.
Have you ever wondered why wiki is called wiki?
Ya know…I just heard the “why” of that somewhere…hmmm
Right now I cannot remember:)
